General Educational Development (GED) allows adults who have not finished high school to show that they have acquired the knowledge and skills associated with, and comparable to, high school completion. Successful GED candidates earn the Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate.
Transitional Year Program (TYP) at University of Toronto - http://www.library.utoronto.ca/typ/
TYP is a special access programme for adults who do not have the formal educational background to qualify for university admission. TYP offers an intensive, one-year full-time course of studies leading to entrance to an Arts and Science degree programme. It is aimed at those who did not finish high school because of financial problems, family difficulties or other circumstances beyond their control. TYP encourages applications from members of the Native Canadian, African-Canadian and from single parents.
